Delete your account
For the Wanity app and console, provided by Omnity Digital Private Limited.
You can delete your Wanity account whenever you want, and you do not have to ask us for permission or give a reason. There are two ways to do it.
In the app — the fastest way
- 1. Open the Wanity app and go to More.
- 2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- 3. Read what it tells you, then confirm.
You are signed out immediately and will not be able to sign in again.
By email — if you cannot reach the app
If you have uninstalled the app, forgotten your password, or are locked out for any other reason, email us from the address your account uses. We reply within two working days.
Email support@wanity.aiWrite from the account's own email address if you can — it is how we know the request is yours. If you cannot, tell us the business name and the WhatsApp number on the account and we will verify another way.
What happens next
Straight away: your access ends. You are signed out of every device, and the account can no longer sign in.
For the next 30 days: the closure can still be undone. Email support@wanity.ai from the same address and we will restore your access.
After that: the closure is permanent. Your records stay on our servers unless you ask us to erase them.
Erasing your data as well
Closing an account and erasing what is in it are two different things, and we would rather be straight about which one you are getting. Closing shuts the account for good. Your records stay on our servers afterwards — we do not delete them automatically.
You can ask us to erase them, and we will. Email support@wanity.ai and say so. When we do, we strip every personal detail out of the records rather than dropping the records themselves, so figures like “how many messages in March” survive while nothing left can be traced back to you. That covers:
- Your login: name, email address, phone number and password.
- Your WhatsApp conversations, messages and any media in them.
- Your contacts, notes, tags, labels and saved replies.
- Campaigns, templates, automation rules and their history.
- Anything your business category added — menus, catalogs, orders and delivery records.
- Devices registered for push notifications.
What we have to keep, and why
We would rather say this plainly than let you find it out later. Deleting your account does not remove these, because the law does not allow it.
- GST tax invoices and payment records
- Indian tax law requires a registered business to keep these for six years, and the invoice series has to stay gapless. They contain your billing name, GSTIN and address.
- A minimal record that the deletion happened
- Its date and scope — but not your name, email or address. It exists so we can show the request was honoured, without keeping the very details it erased.
- Backups, for a short period
- Encrypted backups roll over on a fixed schedule and are purged within 35 days. Deleted data can persist there until the rotation reaches it.
If you work in a team
Deleting your account removes you. Your colleagues keep working and the business's conversations stay where they are.
If you are the only admin, the app will ask you to make someone else an admin first — otherwise nobody could manage billing, the team or the WhatsApp connection afterwards. To close the whole business account instead, an admin can delete the workspace from the console at app.wanity.ai, which ends the subscription and removes every member's access.
If you are a customer of a business that uses Wanity
This page is for Wanity account holders. If you messaged a business on WhatsApp and want your data removed, that business decides what happens to it — we only hold it on their behalf. Ask them directly, or write to support@wanity.ai and we will pass the request on and tell you who they are.
